THOMAS ARNOLD
Remembered with honour Outtersteene Communal Cemetery Extension: Plot II, Row A, Grave 21.
He enlisted in Watford; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and died of wounds received in action. Unfortunately, Thomas’ Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
There is an article about Thomas in the West Herts and Watford Observer dated 8 December 1917.
Son of Ephraim and the late Emily (nee WEBBER) ARNOLD.
His parents married 16 October 1897 at St Lawrence’s, Abbot’s Langley, Herts. Emily died 25 September 1908 aged 44, and was buried at St Lawrence’s, Abbot’s Langley; Ephraim died 1935 in the Watford district aged 63.
Thomas was born 1898 in Bedmond, Herts, and resided in Bedmond.
He has an entry in the National Probate Calendar.
On the 1901 Census, aged 2 he lived in Bedmond, with his parents and one sibling. On the 1911 Census, aged 12 he still lived in Bedmond, with his widowed father and one sibling.
