CLEMENT WILLIAM DOLAMORE

He originally enlisted in Watford 5 December 1900, Private T/S/1342 Army Service Corps: a labourer aged 18, 5’5″ tall, C of E; his next-of-kin his mother. On 4 October 1901 he was awaiting trial, and was convicted and imprisoned 22 October 1901 for striking a superior officer; he was returned to duty 17 December 1901. He was transferred to the Army Reserve 4 December 1903, and discharged 4 December 1912.
He re-enlisted in Hertford; was entitled to the Victory, British and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 24 September 1915, and died in hospital in France.
Son of Isabella (nee SMITH) and the late William DOLAMORE; husband of Rosa Isabel (nee ASH) DOLAMORE.
His parents married 24 February 1881 at St Mary’s, Watford. William died 1891 in Sarratt, Herts, aged 32, and was buried 8 February at Holy Cross, Sarratt. Isabella remarried 18 August 1891 at Holy Cross, Sarratt, to George BONE. George died 1900 in the Watford district aged 69; Isabella died 18 November 1947 in Luton, Beds, aged 84.
Clement was born 22 December 1881 either in Sarratt or Rickmansworth, Herts, and baptised 29 January 1882 at Holy Cross, Sarratt. He married 2 October 1909 at Emmanuel Church, Forest Gate, Essex; they had four children. Rosa remarried 1920 in the Watford district to Harry PARKINS, and died 1965 in the Biggleswade, Beds, district aged 77.
On the 1891 Census, a scholar aged 9, he lived in Sarratt, with his widowed mother and one sibling. On the 1901 Census, a Private in the Army Service Corps aged 20, he was a patient in the Isolation Hospital, Aldershot, Hants. On the 1911 Census, a platelayer aged 29, he lived in Watford, with his widowed mother, wife and one child.
