Wartime Marriage St Matthew's Church Oxhey

My uncle Donald R Pike was an aircraftman and married in November 1940 to Winifred Stamper Shand who lived with her grandmother Isabella Shand in Oxhey Road, Watford. The marriage was at St Matthew’s Church, Oxhey. Winifred (Winnie) had worked as a GPO telephonist, as did her bridesmaid, Vera Sansom. Don’s best man was Aircraftman W Dennis.
