I was born and lived in Bushey from 1932 until 1985 and have just discovered this wonderful site. Can anyone tell me anything about the Bodena or Bodina Cafe, Watford, please?
I am looking into the history of St Agnes House, a rescue home for unmarried mothers. It was housed in no’s 10 to 12 St Johns Road near Watford Junction. The house is still standing. My great aunt was an inmate there at the 1911 census. Any info about St Agnes House and Miss Christain Gilder who was matron there will be most welcome.
